With Summer finally here one of the toughest things to get right is what to wear to work. Offices can be stuffy and no one likes to feel uncomfortable all day.
The classic work attire of jeans or trousers just make you feel too hot during the really hot Summer days and for some reason guys step away from wearing shorts to work because they think it looks too casual.
Some shorts can look too casual such as cargo shorts but worn right chino or linen shorts can look perfect in a work environment. So without going full on flip flops and swim shorts how can you pull off wearing shorts to work?
Keep the shorts plain and darker coloured. No logos or patterns so they are not too eye catching. Keep the material simple too so cotton or linen is ideal.
Keep them the right length. Shorts for the office should be knee length. Short shorts are ideal when they’re swimming shorts and longer shorts are ideal if you fancy the skater look. But when at work keep it sensible and knee length.
Keep the top slightly more casual. You still need to keep a smart-casual appearance but a full on shirt and tie just won’t work. Keep the top slightly more casual such as a linen shirt, a Summer Oxford shirt or a classic polo shirt. A polo shirt will keep you cool and also still look ready for business.
Top finish off the look pick the right style of shoes. A rounded toe shoe would work or if the situation allows then a smart pair of canvas shoes. An alternative to this is the boat shoe, looks smart and is comfortable.
